I supervised this movie which was filmed in Malta. I love the Maltese and they love the English, there is a true bond between us, you can feel it, just walk into a bar and you'll find that out. This was my first time left alone so to speak and with Keith Dawson and Stuart Heath, two, top of their game English techs at the time with me, we smashed it. We did some great work with not a lot of money and working with Lee Tamohori was a blast, he's nuts. Dom was cool to work with too, one of the boys. The opening scene where we blow Dom up was really him in there, we smashed a load of foam looking blocks at him, looked great. We did that whole opening artillery barrage with air, not pyro at all, location would not allow it.
