Inkheart was a significant production for me personally because it was the film where I set up Absolute Effects UK Limited.

I worked as Special Effects Supervisor on the additional photography, joining a fantasy adventure directed by Iain Softley and starring Brendan Fraser, Helen Mirren and Paul Bettany.

The film was shot across the UK and Italy and called for a broad mix of practical effects to support a story built around characters and creatures being brought to life from the pages of books.

For me, though, the lasting significance of Inkheart is that it marked the beginning of Absolute Effects UK Ltd and a new stage in my career — moving further into supervising work under my own company.
