Entrapment was another outing for me with Neil Corbould, on a beautifully shot heist thriller starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The production took us from London to Kuala Lumpur and the Isle of Mull, with a wide range of practical work across vault interiors, rooftops and location sequences. We handled smoke, wire work and complex environmental effects, all designed to sit naturally within what was a very polished and stylish film.

One of the highlights was working with the legendary Vic Armstrong on a series of major car chase sequences. We spent a great deal of time smashing cars up and creating the action practically, only for the entire sequence to be cut from the finished film. A shame, but we had a lot of fun making it.

I also managed to make an unexpected appearance in the film myself. If you look closely at the underwater sequence where Sean Connery’s character is using a thermic lance to cut through the bars, that is actually me doubling Sean underwater.

It was another technically demanding production, but also a very enjoyable one — great locations, strong practical work and another chance to work alongside some of the best people in the business.
